The process is what that counts

Sometimes I get all stressed out on things - study, work, ... but I was reading in Oswald chamber's book about how God is interested in our process (or was it progress?) rather than the end porduct.  Like it doesnt matter if we never make it (in life) as long as we developed our character.  So instead of being stressed out, I remember its a test and God is in control.  So I let go and let God...

And no use whining at Him when things go a bit awry.  Remember its for our good, its like gold to Him, that we become more and more like Him.  Otherwise we get to heaven and we cant stand on the grass because its too hard for our souls (not William Blake but the guy who wrote Mere Christianity - aahh... forgotten his name... who wrote the Great Divorce, famous dude - CS Lewis, that's it, well done Sharon :)

So as long as I keep remembering this... things should go a bit more smoothly.

Lots of Love

Question

What is Love?

How do we know that we know what love is? Especially if we have not experienced it? Not what we think love is, but what actually is love.

Can we really say to someone 'I love you' if we ourselves do not know love (or have love)?

'Love does not demand, love does not control, love does not hold onto wrongs, love is not spiteful, love is not impatient.'

Can I really say 'I love you Lord' if I do not really know what love is?

For God first loved us... so we can love God back.

What if we do not have a container in us to contain this love, then we are always running on empty, how O Lord do I get this container?  Can you put in me a container to contain the love that You have for me? Otherwise I would constantly need to be filled with His love or would be seeking it from others, a perhaps counterfeit love? Or counterfeit affection? How will I distinguish what is counterfeit and what is real? Would You please tell me O Lord?

Grace upon grace upon grace

When Paul pleaded with the Lord to take away his thorn in the flesh, God said to him that His grace is sufficient for him.  This is what God is saying to me when I've prayed that he would 'take away the thorn in my life.'  Praying about it again, whether he would take it away, He says 'Grace upon grace upon grace...'

How do we get to the point where we can say God is my all sufficiency? My All in All, my everything.

'All of  You

Is more than enough for

All of me

For every breath and

Every need

You satifsy me

With Your love

And all I have in You is more than enough...'
